  • Colorado Economic Development Commission (EDC) members voted Monday to approve nearly $120,000 in incentives for DaVita Inc. to build a research facility in Lakewood for which it plans to hire 58 employees.

The vote follows the dialysis center operator’s confirmation last week that it has chosen the St. Anthony Central Hospital campus as the location for its second U.S. research center.

The center, which will go in one of two medical office plazas under construction on the campus, is expected to employ high-paying executives and medical professionals…

  • Charitable giving in the United States jumped 7.5 percent in 2011, with Texas seeing some of the strongest growth at 9.3 percent, according to a report from Dallas-based Atlas of Giving.

    Witness Boulder’s Array BioPharma Inc.

The drug research company (Nasdaq: ARRY) on Monday reported results for the three months that ended Dec…

  • After months of hype from Seattle-based biotech Cell Therapeutics Inc. about a second chance at FDA approval for pixantrone, the optimism was absent Monday as the company withdrew its new drug application for the proposed treatment of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Cell Therapeutics (NASDAQ: CTIC) issued a release saying it needed “additional time” to prepare for the Food and Drug Administration review. The company asked for an extra month to prepare, but the FDA declined to reschedule in that time frame…
