    The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center’s has awarded three $500,000 matching grants to companies that have already received national research grants. This marks the first time the center, which is charged with spending $1 billion over 10 years as part of Governor Deval Patrick’s Life Sciences Initiative, has given out grant to companies. In the past, all awards have been loans or tax breaks.
