The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of Health, and the Honourable Jim Prentice, Minister of the Environment, announced the release of the final screening assessments for 14 of the 18 chemicals assessed in Batch 6 of the Chemicals Management Plan. “Releasing the final assessments for Batch 6 means that we have now assessed over half of the high priority substances identified in the Challenge portion of the Chemicals Management Plan,” said Minister Aglukkaq.

New connections begin to form between brain cells almost immediately as animals learn a new task, according to a study published this week in Nature. Led by researchers at the University of California, Santa Cruz, the study involved detailed observations of the rewiring processes that take place in the brain during motor learning. The researchers studied mice as they were trained to reach through a slot to get a seed.
